Our Story

  • Humble Beginnings (1957): Jack Holder opened “Holder’s Pancake House” with two goals: bring people together over hearty breakfast staples, and give back to the community that raised him.

  • A Growing Tradition: Over the decades, locals came to know—and love—the buttery pancakes, fluffy omelettes, and perfectly brewed coffee. Generations of families made Holder’s their weekend tradition.

  • Reimagined for Today: In 20‍25, the Holder family honored Jack’s legacy by evolving the concept into Mission City Grill. New name, refreshed décor, and an expanded menu—but the same commitment to quality, flavor, and warm hospitality.

Our Mission & Values

At Mission City Grill, we carry forward Jack’s vision in every detail:

  1. From‑Scratch Cooking
    – We still hand‑mix our batters, chop our veggies daily, and simmer sauces in small batches.

  2. Community First
    – Whether it’s sponsoring youth sports or hosting neighborhood fundraisers, we believe a great restaurant is rooted in its community.

  3. Family Warmth
    – Our dining rooms are meant for laughter, conversation, and kid‑friendly comfort. You’re part of the Mission City family from the moment you walk in.

  4. Consistent, Delicious Fare
    – Breakfast all day, burgers and salads at lunch, and irresistible dessert specials—what you love about “Holder’s” lives on here.
